The purpose of peer mediation is to provide a positive outlet for students to resolve student-student conflicts with the assistance of a peer. Students trained in the mediation process help referred students negotiate an equally acceptable resolution to their conflict. The cases most appropriate for mediation involve rumors, name-calling, breaches in friendships, and threats.
Peer Mediation is appropriate for grades 7-12.
