Summer Camp 2011

Alternatives’ Summer Camp incorporates a range of activities to provide a fun and engaging program that assists youth in building skills that enable them to choose a more positive path and avoid negative or risky behaviors. Three days a week, the camp provide a structured schedule of activities that include physical fitness, small and large group activities, open recreation and substance abuse prevention. A field trip is offered on the fourth day of each week.

Small and large group activities provide youth and opportunity to develop community and enhance skills such as teamwork, communication and problem solving. Older participants serve as Junior Counselors and Peer Leaders during these activities, providing positive mentoring and developing their leadership skills.

Open activity and recreation time provides youth with the opportunity to explore their own unique interests. Indoor and outdoor recreation ensures that youth participate in physical activity daily.
