Leadership Council
Leadership Council provides young girls a safe space to experience themselves, make new friends, and engage in dialogue and activities that help them develop as community leaders. In weekly meetings, the girls discuss topics such as peer pressure, nutrition/health, internet safety, self-esteem and the positive role that women and girls can play in their communities. Each year, the group undertakes a series of community service projects as well as setting and tracking individual life goals. Open to girls ages 10 to 14 who like to work on teams, are willing to share their ideas, learn from others, can commit to coming every week, and most importantly have FUN!
Participate in fun activities, meet new people, and learn how to make a positive change in your life and the lives of others. Program meets Wednesdays from 5-7 p.m. starting October 5, 2011. If you have any questions or to apply, please feel free to contact Susie at 773-506-7474 or sakey@alternativesyouth.org.
Girl World's Kick-Off Event and information session is September 29 at 4:30pm.
