Alternatives offers a broad range of opportunities to volunteer your time and make a difference in the lives of Chicago’s young people.

Examples of individual volunteer opportunities include tutoring, guest speaking, offering administrative support and helping to plan program and fundraising events. We engage corporate and civic groups in a variety of tailored community service projects including holiday events and drives, service days, community beautification projects, and special events.

Alternatives also works with a variety of higher learning institutions to offer meaningful internships in the social services. Students gain experience and earn undergraduate or graduate credit in clinical/practicum, youth development, and social service administration.
