Digital Connectors
The Comcast Digital Connectors program focuses on developing young people as leaders through technology training and community service.
The robust curriculum addresses 12 core competency areas needed in the 21st century workplace, including community mapping, digital literacy, hardware and networks, software and programming and media production. During the course, young people engage in team-based and individual projects that enable them to use the new skills they have learned while providing service to the community; for example, young people might use video production and software skills to develop a web-based training on using Microsoft Excel. Each participant also earns a Cisco IT Essentials: PC Hardware and Software certificate of completion. This program offers a stipend, serving as early work experience in the technology and community service fields.
Enrollment for 2011-2012 is open until November 30. Contact Ryan Meher at 773.506.7474 x245 for information or to enroll. 2011-2011 sessions run from October 4 to June 2012, Tuesdays and Thursdays from 4:00-6:00pm.
